We’re proud to share our latest investment in Maurice & Nora: an Antwerp-based startup that connects families and elderly people with vetted students for flexible, non-medical support at home.
Founded in Antwerp, Maurice & Nora tackles a growing social challenge: the increasing demand for reliable, everyday help for seniors and busy families – without the complexity of formal care. Meanwhile, students are looking for work that is flexible and meaningful. Maurice & Nora brings all of these needs together in one platform, using AI-driven matching based on personality, interests, and skills to make the process fast, personal, and yet still human.
One year after launch, the results speak for themselves: over 3,000 screened students across Flanders and Brussels, more than 2,000 registered families and seniors, and over 10 B2B employers – including Nimble, Addmore, and Strada Partners – already offering the service as an employee benefit.
Why We Invested
Maurice & Nora aligns with three themes that sit at the heart of our mission to make society more inclusive, fair, and safe:
- Family wellbeing: by making everyday help easy to find and reliable, the platform reduces pressure on households at their most stretched moments.
- Gender equity: 66.2% of help-seekers on the platform are women – a reminder that informal care responsibilities still fall disproportionately on one part of the population. Tools that ease that burden matter for gender equity as much as they do for wellbeing.
- Meaningful inclusion: students gain flexible work with real social purpose. Seniors stay connected and supported. The model strengthens social bonds rather than replacing them.
“At SI3, we invest in companies where impact is not a side effect, but the core of the model. Maurice & Nora is exactly that: solving a real and growing societal need, while building a scalable, tech-enabled platform that strengthens human connection rather than replacing it.”

What’s Next
As part of a €1 million funding round, Maurice & Nora will accelerate commercial growth through expanded B2B partnerships and marketing, bring in new key talent, and continue developing their platform – including native mobile apps, refined AI matching, voice technology, and enterprise-grade infrastructure. The team of ten has international ambitions, with Belgium as the foundation for a broader European rollout.
We look forward to supporting Thomas and the team as they scale their mission – and prove that technology is at its best when it brings people closer together.
